Traditional Engadine Style Chalet
Pontresina | Engadine | Switzerland | CH0347
Pontresina lies in the highest tributary valley of the Upper Engadine on a lynchet, exposed to the sun but protected from the wind.
A paradise for mountain climbers and hikers as well as for skiers, this typical Engadine village is surrounded by Swiss pine and larch forests.
The Chesa Erika, an Engadine farmhouse from the 16th century, is located in the historic centre of the village of Pontresina. The renovation has been carried out with great care and with the aim of satisfying the highest expectations. The result is astonishing, luxurious and unique. The impressive living area counts more than 1’000 m2. The ancient building structure has been maintained where ever possible. The view over meadows and the river Flaz will remain closed to further construction.
The house is open on two sides, as it is typical for ancient Engadine houses. The quality lies within with its warm and welcoming atmosphere.
You receive your guests in the large “Suler” (hallway).
On the same Level you also find the antique Engadine livingroom (“Stube”) the arched kitchen, a repository and a separate toilet.
The living areas and the householder‘s study are planned on several floors in the ancient barn
and can be accessed internally by means of a generously proportioned staircase.
This fantastic space has a wide window front facing the valley. The large dining room has an Exit to the garden.
All 6 bedrooms are on the two upper floors on the side facing the Grand Hotel Kronenhof.
A separate staff room, a cinema room, a wine cellar, a Ski-/bicycle room, a separate large cellar,
the laundry and 5 parking spaces in the garage complete this offer.
